Since 1993, Long Island Children’s Museum has provided an enriching and fun environment for everyone from toddlers to pre-teens. Home to 14 interactive indoor and outdoor exhibits, a 140-seat theater, and 4 learning studios, LICM is a place where your little one can explore, create, and learn something new every day.

LICM’s current exhibits include a sensory outdoor garden in “Our Backyard,” a room of percussive instruments and everyday sound-makers in “Sound Showers,” and an opportunity to discover new patterns in “Pattern Studio.” Each exhibit exemplifies LICM’s vision: centering the well-being of children and families through the power of play.

“Long Island Children’s Museum is fun for kids from 1 and up,” says WAM member Ashley H. “The toddler room is a great space for pre-walkers through preschool, the sound room has something for all ages, the suspended jungle gym is a blast for older kids, and the ever-changing exhibit on the first floor means there’s always something new.”

The LICM theater is Long Island’s only year-round family theater, treating families to 3 long-running shows annually with additional music, dance, puppet, and circus performances throughout the year. Select performances are sensory-sensitive, and talkbacks with the performers happen frequently.

In addition to standing exhibits and theatrical performances, LICM offers monthly special events that foster discovery and imagination. Be sure to check out workshops like “Music and Movement” that get little bodies up and dancing, and “Little Learners Art Lab” where kids can create their own works of art.

Long Island Children’s Museum hosts the Island’s best birthday parties, too! Whether you choose a Dino Birthday Bash, a Birthday Blastoff, or some messy fun, your tyke will remember their celebration for years to come.

Why limit yourself to one visit when you can become a LICM member? Enjoy free and unlimited admission, special “members only” hours, discounts on events, and other exclusive benefits! Memberships start at $100 per year for one adult and one child, with packages to fit any family size.

Tickets for non-members are $18 per person, and free for kiddos under one year.

Long Island Children’s Museum is located 11 Davis Ave in Garden City, open Tuesday through Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm
