Jean Boucher Photography

Introduction

Hey y'all!

My name is Jae, and I am a fine art maternity and family photographer, and branding storyteller. Originally from Georgia, I have been here about twenty years now. Raised my boys in Port Jefferson Village and now live in sweet little East Setauket. My sessions are straight up my joy. Yes, even the ones where the littles are crying, maybe it rained, or the wind was wild.  Why? Because ALL of that is part of your story, your sweet families memories and the essence and the beauty of life. We laugh, we connect, and in the midst of it all where you might think to yourself, "What is she actually doing??", I capture images that will make you laugh, cry with joy, and want to hug your loved ones and friends a little tighter. We uncover beauty within that you may not have known you had.  I capture portraiture that is timeless yet beautifully unique to you and to your family or brand. Studio and outdoor sessions!  I would LOVE to connect with  you and answer any questions I can. Always happy to chat!

Specialization

I focus (ha ha pardon the pun) on maternity, family, milestones like Senior sessions, and branding imagery. My specialty is not just these areas but the ability to pull out who you are in front of the lens. Every client leaves a session with me having at some point hit the floor (not literally!) cracking up.  If we aren't having fun, being relaxed and being ourselves, well, why would we want to do a photo session? I certainly wouldn't!

Story telling and strategic branding imagery is another absolute love of mine.  I do not simply take a series of photos, but we lay out a theme, a plan, a fluidity of imagery that makes sense.  Business clients also have me available for 30 days after their sessions to help coordinate posts, etc. really taking advantage of making the images and strategy work hand in hand.

Company History

Throughout life I would  find myself looking up at buildings and how the light moved through them, or lay flat/low on the ground as an angle intrigued me. I was always caught up by the beauty of the human face. I had NO idea I had a photographic eye. In conversation one day with my good friend who heads Professional Services at Nikon, he said, "You NEED to get a camera in your hands." So I did.  I took classes. Read books. Worked for free under anyone I could to learn.  And after about 5 years, Jean Boucher Photography was born.  Jean Boucher is my name (I go by Jae as it is quite a mouthful!). Boucher is a family name from a relative from a few thousand years ago, Francois Boucher, the painter for Louis XIV.  I thought it was cool to tap into my artistic and family roots, and voila. (A little note here - a rebrand and rename is in the works and I am SUPERBLY excited.)

I currently offer both studio and outdoor sessions and would love to ultimately add travel into my business, offering retreat sessions In different states.  There is a huge connection between imagery and the essence and love within ourselves and it would be AWESOME to pair those together in an experience. Stay tuned!

FAQs

Hmmmm FAQs.

Do you offer minis? - No. They are a wonderful opportunity but they can become so stressful for littles that may be camera shy etc.  15 minutes is not necessarily going to work for littles!

What do you charge? - I have many options, session lengths, digital packages, etc. We chat about what the client wants and go from there.

Where are you located? - I work out of Coastal Creative Studios in Huntington (Halesite) and travel all over the Island for outdoor sessions

Personal Hobbies

Reading books, going to the beach, riding, exploring new recipes, absolute gym nut, baking ( NOT my strong suit), connecting with new groups of people - LOVE networking and getting inspired by others!
