Introduction

Hi! I’m Michele, a Long Island-based officiant who’s been creating personalized, meaningful ceremonies since 2011. While I’m best known for wedding ceremonies, one of the most heartfelt services I offer is Baby Welcoming Ceremonies—also known as Baby Blessings.

Whether you're looking for something spiritual, sentimental, or simply joyful and full of love, I’m here to help you honor your child’s arrival in a way that feels just right for your family. These ceremonies can include poems, song lyrics, special readings, or symbolic elements like candle lightings, water blessings, or tree plantings....it’s completely up to you.

My goal is always the same: to create something beautiful, modern, and deeply personal.

Specialization

I specialize in modern, meaningful Baby Welcoming Ceremonies that reflect each family's unique values and traditions. Some families prefer a more spiritual tone, others want a totally non-religious event....and that’s the beauty of it: there’s no one “right” way to celebrate your child.

These ceremonies can include grandparents, siblings, godparents (or guide parents), loved ones who’ve passed, or family traditions you hold dear.

Company History

I’ve been an officiant on Long Island since 2011. A few years in, a couple I had married reached out and asked if I could help them welcome their baby with a ceremony that felt just as special and personal as their wedding. I was honored—and from there, Baby Blessings became one of my favorite services to offer.

My company, LI Officiant, is now home to two of us—myself and Jacqueline, another wonderful officiant who shares the same warm, thoughtful approach. We serve families throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties and will travel beyond when our schedules allow.

FAQs

Is this a religious ceremony?
Only if you want it to be! Baby Blessings can be spiritual, secular, or a combination—totally tailored to your preferences.

Where do the ceremonies take place?
Wherever you’d like! Many families host in their homes, at restuaruants, or in backyards.

Can we include other family members?
Absolutely. Parents often choose to include siblings, grandparents, godparents/guide parents, or honor loved ones who’ve passed.

How long is the ceremony?
Most are between 15–20 minutes, depending on what you’d like to include.

Is this considered a sacrament like a baptism or christening?
No—it’s not. While this ceremony can be deeply meaningful and spiritual, it is not a religious sacrament and will not be formally recognized by a church the way a baptism or christening would be.

This is a personal, ceremonial celebration created to honor your child in a way that reflects your values, beliefs, and wishes. It’s a beautiful option for families who aren’t part of a religious institution, who want something more modern, or who simply wish to celebrate their baby in their own unique way.

Personal Hobbies

I’m a mom of four (though they’re mostly grown now!) and I know firsthand how quickly the early years fly by. That’s part of why I love helping families slow down for a moment and mark the beginning of their child’s journey with love and intention.

When I’m not officiating, I love reading, cooking, spending time with my family, and helping couples tie the knot all across Long Island. I’d be honored to be part of your family’s next big moment, too.

WAM Love!

Michele was absolutely amazing throughout our entire planning process. She was so attentive and responsive every time we had a question, she asked details questions to make sure our ceremony was as personalized as possible! We love her and if you want to have an absolutely amazing ceremony like we did, you need to have her!

Michele was sweet, professional, timely and inclusive of my unique situation. She was truly a joy to work with on getting everything prepared in a very limited time frame and my family adored her.
